Trincomalee beach is one of the Famous beaches in Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka has some of the best beaches in the world very popular among tourists with sunbathing, sea bathing surfing, snorkeling and diving all year around. Marble beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Trincomalee area. The water is crystal blue and there are hardly any waves making it an excellent bathing spot. The name Marble beach comes from the Marble stones found in the area. There are lifeguards in the area so you can enjoy a bath without the fear of drowning, and you can go a fair distance towards the sea because of shallow waters. Another thing we noticed were the water did not have the salt taste.

Trincomalee Beach/Bay is historically significant as many travelers like Ptolemy and Marco Polo have arrived here. It became an important destination for East Asian and Chinese sea traders at one point of time. The mention of this sea port is found in Mahavamsa. Foreign powers like the Dutch, French, English and Portuguese have fought for the mastery of this harbor.

Beach can engage in recreational activities like scuba diving, fishing, surfing etc. Trincomalee Beach/Bay is also known as an excellent spot for sea bathing in Sri Lanka.

The Pigeon Islands and hot springs located in Kanniya are important tourist attractions near Trincomalee Beach in Sri Lanka. Recently Trincomalee has become popular as a Whale and Dolphin Watching destination too. There are boats services for that, if you want go for whale watching, you need to start it in the morning. You can see many kinds of whales and dolphins there if you are lucky enough. It’s not rare, so you always have a chance.
