Introduction

Here the paints required for painting work at the Abhayagiri monastery were made. From the archaeological evidence found so far. It is evident that the frontispieces that the frontispieces at the stupa Buddha images, roof tiles, pottery and other artifacts, had been painted. The eroded stone slabs used for grinding various items to manufacture these paints and the remnants of lime mortar can be seen even now.
