According to an inscription insity this pillared structure could be identified as the Nissanka Tata Mandapa. The unusual pillar type stimulates a lotus stalk with flower as the capita. Another inscription confirms that it is here the King Nissankamalla 1187-1196 A.D listened to Pirith recitel at Budhist Scriptures in the center is a small stone cut stupa having truncated top perhaps to receive the relic casket during Pirith chatting. This was probably covered with a roof. Pillars at similar design are also founding building Satmahal prasada.
